04 Haminoea navicula

04 Haminoea navicula

On this strandline shell the periostracum and spiral striae have been lost or are barely visible on most of the shell. Nacre deposited by the mantle just within the aperture (<b>1</b>) has protected the brownish periostracum below it. In this specimen some of the nacre has flaked off; its edge was probably directly from 1 to 1 along the brownish line. Height 21.2 mm, South Devon, England, May 2017, Leg. H. Morgenroth & K. Rose.
