04 Acanthodoris pilosa

1: Soft, tall, thin, conical tubercles on mantle give shaggy/ pilose appearance , but sometimes can be somewhat contracted and less distinctive (See fig 04.1)
2: Rhinophores translucent, coloured as white mantle, except lamellae cream yellow.
3: Translucent mantle reveals pale brown viscera.
4: Seven large tripinnate gills in circle around anus, can spread to cover full width of animal. Translucent tinted as mantle, with opaque white along each side of midrib forming a star. Gills can contract but not retract into pocket.
