12 Differentiation L. obtusata/L. fabalis

12 Differentiation L. obtusata/L. fabalis

Male L. obtusata.
Even though in this image the mamilliform glands on the mesial face of the penis are hidden against the body, so preventing the base of the filament to be discerned, it is obvious that the end of the penis is not a vermiform (worm shaped) filament (1), so it is L. obtusata and not L. fabalis.
Shell height 12.9 mm. Menai Strait, North Wales. September 2016.
