When feeding, the ventrally translucent-white muzzle is spread out flat on the substrate, and the outer lips moved aside to expose the mouth edged anteriorally by the rim of the red-brown jaw, and to allow the extension of the anterior of the radula covered in thousands of white teeth.
In this image the translucent muzzle allows the black background to show; this helps differentiate it from the more opaque white outer lip lobes.
1: lip lobes closed.
2: lip lobes partially open.
3: lip lobes open and white radula extending.
4: lip lobes open and white radula fully extended.
