A. loveni is usually reported as feeding on the Sea pen Virgularia mirabilis but this image shows it also consumes Funiculina quadrangularis (c. 50mm high) .
1: Orange mouthparts containing strong jaws, everted from below the cephalic shield, and greatly engorged while feeding.
2: Chewed remnants of polyps consumed by the A. loveni as it works upwards.
