Thompson & Brown in 1976 wrote, referring to the cephalic shield, that the ‘head’ is ‘produced laterally into pointed tentacles’ and illustrated it with the drawings above. The old preserved specimen they had to use, in the absence of live material, was distorted and contracted, and gave the false impression of tentacles (1). The lateral ends of the ovoid cephalic shield on live specimens do not resemble tentacles in any of the many positions they can assume 06 Armina loveni. Length 19.4mm. Sublittoral, Orkney, Scotland.
