All examined specimens from Orkney had pigment that varied from grey to brown-black; juveniles, like this, were usually paler than adults.
The anterior of the foot (1) is deeply bilaminate, lacking dorsal pigment in front of the opaque, white, ‘V’ shaped anterior pedal mucous gland (2). The gland discharges from within the bilaminate anterior to spread mucus to lubricate creeping. Shell height 4.9mm. Orkney, Scotland. May 2017. Leg. S. Taylor.
