Squatter, glossier shell than  T. reticulata, all whorls convex.

Labial varix (1) pronounced, white with transverse brown bands. Distinct, former labial varices on earlier whorls (2).

Widely-spaced, narrow costae (3), intersect with narrowly-spaced, narrow spiral ridges (4) to form small, rounded bosses. All sculpture is well-raised on unweathered shells.
