On the anterior of the almost transparent tip of the cerata there is an irregular patch of white surface pigment (1) which, on some, continues round to the posterior. Lower down, there is an irregular splash of white surface pigment (2) which is not usually connected to the patch on the tip. Further down there is a longitudinal band of iridescent dark (left) or light (right) blue.
