On the ventral face of the head there is an opening to a sac containing an inverted, opaque whitish, feeding proboscis which is visible inside the translucent head (1). The simple, obscure opening lacks lips or other oral features as the true mouth with buccal mass lies as the far end of the inverted proboscis when not feeding.
