The profile of L. perspicua varies from moderate to high dome or conical. At its lowest it may approximate to the highest that L. latens can achieve, but it is usually distinctly higher. Other than the mantle dorsally, the flesh of L. latens is translucent white, un-tinted by other colour. The flesh colour of L. perspicua varies widely, is not pure white and does not have small marks of opaque pure white.
