17 Berthella plumula spawn.

A spirally coiled, cream or yellow ribbon of spawn is attached by its edge to rock in late spring. When newly laid, the ribbon has clear borders unoccupied by ova (left). The upper edge of the spiral ribbon is bent evenly outwards without undulations (right).
