A. papillosa sensu stricto verified with molecular sequencing, has been found in Maine and Massachusetts, USA (Kienberger et al., 2016). In America the head often has a white, wine glass shaped mark, which in this image is centrally faded with small lateral branches to approximate to a Y, but the branches bend to meet at an obtuse angle of nearly 180° instead of the acute junction of the arms of a Y.
