09 Ocenebra erinaceus

Palatal lip with interior protrusions (1) which correlate with the spiral grooves of the exterior. Flexible operculum fits aperture tightly behind the protrusions. Long, closed siphonal canal protects the siphon so it can remain safely extended for respiration when the animal is retracted into the shell.
