11 Patella vulgata

Sculpture entirely obscured by barnacles. The sides of the foot are partly faintly buff (1) on this mature specimen. When crawling, usually only the extended pallial tentacles and, perhaps, tips of the cephalic tentacles protrude beyond the shelter of the shell. L. 37 mm. Mersey Estuary, England, August 2017.
