1: Small, triangular, widely separated apophyses on intermediate valves ii to vii extend under next valve forwards.
2: Rounded trapezoidal apophyses on tail valve viii.
As on others in family Leptochitonidae, no insertion plates with intervening slits, which most chitons have, at ends of intermediate valves 3, at anterior of head valve 4 or posterior of tail valve 5.
