Pink form of Lepidochitona cinerea that is frequently mistaken for Boreochiton ruber. The unique (within N.W. Europe) pattern of lozenges on the girdle of L. cinerea serves to differentiate it, even when the pattern is faint or partially developed. See 17 Lepidochitona cinerea for example of typical pattern.
The pattern on this specimen is complete, except that the pale longitudinal line running around the girdle is wider than usual and has obliterated the central waist-area of the brown bands.
