06 Adalaria proxima

Translucent, colourless mantle spicules are most visible ventrally, as in inset. Most spicules near mantle edge point out from the body, but elsewhere they are crossed by others, see  fig. 07 . Foot is rounded at both ends; more broadly and gently at the anterior. Translucent sole shows the slightly-purplish brown digestive gland which on mature adults is often concealed in dorsal view by yellowish ovotestes.  Lengths 10 mm and 12 mm. Outer Hebrides, Scotland.
