Main shaft (1) of each gill is broad and pigmented as the body.

Pale pinnae (2) shielded by main shaft at anterior, and gills arranged in a ‘U’ open to the posterior where they are shielded by a pair of large, erect, club-like, glandular lobes (3). Length 11.5 mm. Menai Strait, Wales, September 2015.
