As on the rest of the body, the cerata, apart from the apex, have a translucent purple integument. The, usually, bright red digestive gland shows clearly through it.
The apex is transparent and colourless revealing the internal, translucent white cnidosac (1) except where a subapical ring of opaque white surface pigment (2) conceals it.
