There is a longitudinal row of up to eight solitary cerata on each side of body; the most recent addition, at the posterior, is small and easily overlooked (1).
They are translucent whitish, revealing the internal digestive gland which extends almost to the apex as there is no cnidosac. Each ceras has a protruding apical tubercle and up to four encircling rings of rounded tubercles, often with an additional indistinct incomplete ring at the base. Internally, each tubercle has several sub-apical, white, granular bodies (3) and, usually, an apical red spheroid (2).
