Dorsally the linear orange-red marks resemble the open aperture of the barnacle Verruca stroemia (shown in inset) protruding through a cover of yellow sponge. Dorsal dense yellow is visible ventrally through the pale translucent ground colour. Length 23 mm, Menai Strait, Wales, February 2011.
