02 Myosotella myosotis 7.5 mm high adult & 4.5 mm high juvenile. Salting on Severn Estuary, Gloucestershire, England. August 2011.

Up to 8 moderately convex whorls separated by distinct shallow sutures.
Left: adult shell with ridge within palatal (outer lip). Usually up to 8mm high and 3.5mm broad, exceptionally 10mm high and 5mm broad.
Right:juvenile shell with no thickening ridge within palatal lip. Usually less than 6.5mm high.
1 to 3: shell height.
1 to 2: body whorl height.
2 to 3: spire height.
Shell-wall thin, opaque or slightly translucent, with a silky sheen when clean.
Varies from pale yellowish brown (4) to dark reddish brown (5) or, sometimes, purplish brown (6). The protoconch and juvenile shell up to 1.4mm height are white, and are retained as a whitish apex on the adult (7).
