Juvenile L. saxatilis s.l. Compare with similarly sized L. compressa in fig. 02. 1: thin yellow palatal lip crenulated by spiral grooves (not as distinctly as usual on L. compressa juveniles). 2: wide columellar lip white with violet tint (usually pure white on L. compressa). 3:  base of aperture has slight spout as on juveniles of various species of Littorina. 4: spiral bands angulated. 5: brown spiral line confined to groove; as on banded L. compressa, but frequently occurs on Spanish L. saxatilis and, occasionally, on British L. saxatilis s.l.
