05 Otina ovata

Active specimen in seawater with body well expanded beyond shell.

1: sculpture of distinct transverse growth lines and many spiral striae form oblong lattice.
2: large oral veil made of two oral lappets
3: internal black sclerotized jaw near mouth.
4: broad lateral tracts of foot-surface may have accessory respiratory function as blood comes here to body-surface under very thin epithelium through which respiratory interchange might easily be possible (Morton, 1955).
