06.1 Trivia monacha

Very early-stage post veliger juvenile. 3.3 mm high. Preserved body in shell. Starting to develop spire, as usual for gastropods, but lacks operculum and periostracum. Shell entirely translucent white.

1: body-whorl ovoid.

2: very small spire of one and a half whorls, discoid larval protoconch,1.2mm diameter, 6% of shell-height and glossier than rest of shell.

3: body-whorl 94% of height.

4: D-shaped aperture 82% of shell-height, wide open basally, narrowing adapically.

5: adapical angle narrow.

6: very short, thin columellar lip basally; no other lip on body whorl on inner side of aperture.

7: thin, semi-circular palatal (outer) lip.
