Populations on the west coast of Anglesey are nigrolineate with the dark lines confined to the spiral grooves (left half of image), while those on the north coast nearly all lack dark lines. The ground colour on both populations grades from white to pale yellow. The exterior colour and lines may show through the thin outer lip (1), but the columellar lip is usually white untinted by any other colour (2).
