11 Lepidochitona cinerea

Dorsal surface of valve iii from 16 mm long specimen.
1 – 2 – 3: lateral area.
2 – 3 – 4: pleural area.
2 – 3: junction line of lateral and pleural areas only faintly detectable by change in orientation of granules.
3 – 4 – 5: jugal area distinguished by V of different colour (not on all specimens).
6: apophysis; curvature varies between valves. L. cinerea has mainly comparatively gently curved apophyses; but those on valve iii, such as this, have a stronger curvature.
