Snout shape, inhalent anterior sinus of aperture and most shell features are similar to B. reticulatum.
It differs by having its translucent white body tinted faintly pink in parts and in having rose-pink cephalic tentacles.
B. simplex is a southern species with its northern limit at the Channel Islands, Bretagne and, perhaps, the Scilly Isles in Britain.
