3: pore of posterior pedal gland secretes adhesive mucus that is shaped by medial groove on sole into strong threads that harden on contact with sea water; used to anchor the snail and act as climbing lines around algae or between substrate and pool surface.
4: large purple-black opercular lobe extends prominently like wing.
5: greyish-white mantle.
6: longitudinal slit mouth in terminal cleft of snout.
7: dark transverse band on side of foot extends part-way onto sole.
