1: dorsal view of red / purple-red odontophore.
2: anteroventral view of odontophore.
3: anterior of radula distinctly visible as free of enclosing radular sac.
4: radula bending from dorsum of odontophore to enter oral tube leading to inner lips.
5: translucent, whitish hyaline-shield of radula resting on cartilage bolsters of odontophore.
6: yellowish inner lips enclosed at sides and anterior by white chitinous unarticulated jaw.
7: chitinous jaw after treatment with 10% solution of NaOH. 2X scale of other items.
8: teeth fully formed near anterior of radular sac; golden colour caused by hard minerals of iron and silica; outline of teeth blurred as seen through translucent radular sac.
9: blind inner-end of radular sac where teeth commence formation; white as teeth lack mineralization at this stage.
10: long radula folded and coiled to fit in body.
11: interior face of foot with divisions between bundles of pedal-retractor muscle continuing across it.
