Specimens from furthest east (1970s) live S. umbilicalis records on North coast of mainland Scotland. Winter temperatures too cold to the east (except west coast Orkney) and all way down east coast to Kent. More recently extension along N. coast Scotland and into rest of Orkney reported. Support of live-taken specimens or clear photographs needed for records of further expansion.
