1: the juvenile growth forms a small part of this GS5h shells and is distinguished from adult growth by a marked change of slope, initially flaring laterally.
2: the wide skirt of adult growth all around the shell makes up the majority of it.
3: red-brown rays are interspersed between the remaining blue rays.
4: GS5h shells are usually thickened and opaque, but the blue lines can be traced from the interior on this one.
The interior of this one with grey (5) within the pedal-retractor muscle scar, and a yellowish periphery (6) is superficially similar to that of some Patella vulgata.
