Early adults (GS4), as in Britain, cease anterior shell-loss and commence thicker growth (1) with continuous growth lines all around the perimeter (2), and the anterior rises to form a dome (3). In Norway, on frond dwellers, there are usually blue lines on the new adult growth at both anterior and posterior, but the right hand specimen is an exception as it lacks blue lines on anterior new growth in common with most British specimens and GS4 Norwegian ones on stipes.
