57 Patella pellucida. Shell length 10.2mm. Early adult, Growth Stage 4 frond dweller (GS4f). March 2014. Littoral. West Anglesey, Wales.

The juvenile, dark chestnut band on the pedal-retractor muscle persists on this early adult frond dweller, but is lost on holdfast dwellers. The intensity of light and/ or difference of diet between those living in holdfasts and those on fronds may be causal factors.
As usual on adult frond dwellers, the dorsal surface of the foot is yellowish (white on holdfast dwellers).
