The mantle cavity consists of a nuchal cavity (1) over the head and a groove containing pallial gills (2) around the periphery of foot but, unlike other British Patellidae, not around the anterior of the head (3) .The efferent pallial vessel (4), less whitish than the rest of the mantle skirt, runs around the entire animal at the base of the pallial gills and in front of the head to a point left of the head where its two ends unite in a trunk (5) that passes through the roof of the nuchal cavity to the heart.
